Leadership at Astra extends beyond just “empowering teams.”
For us, it means giving teams the tools, best practices, and a seat at the table in planning for the future.
This April, we hosted our 7th Presidents Roundtable at our headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.
Over two days, Presidents, Advisors, Board Members, and the Astra Executive Team came together for an event filled with strategic learning and cultivated collaboration.
The foundation for the Roundtable was laid through thoughtful preparation.
Attendees completed a series of prework activities, including leadership assessments, cashflow exercises, KPI reflections, and a Presidents Survey to better curate the experience.
These exercises ensured that every discussion was rooted in real business needs—setting the stage for meaningful conversations and a further strengthening of the network.

Workshops and Breakout Sessions
The event kicked off with a Core Strengths Workshop led by Helene Theriault of Function First Coaching, equipping leaders with practical tools for building stronger teams and deeper relationships.
Attendees then participated in breakout sessions focused on:
• Cash management
• Leading through change
• The biggest concerns facing presidents today
These sessions offered opportunities to work through real challenges with the support of peers, deepening collaboration across the network.
Recognizing Excellence
A special highlight of the Roundtable was the presentation of the 2024 Rocket Ship Awards:
🏆 Most Improved OpCo: Awarded to ASI for achieving an impressive 75% OP growth year-over-year.
🏆 Best Performing OpCo: Awarded to LA Hydrojet for delivering a standout 19% OP margin.

Leadership Insights and Networking
Thursday featured a lineup of dynamic leadership content, beginning with a keynote from Harry S. Campbell on “Get-Real Leadership.”
This was followed by an engaging debrief on cash strategies with Jonathan Mond, and open roundtable discussions where attendees shared wins, struggles, and practical recommendations.
True to Astra’s culture of connection, the day concluded with an evening at Topgolf to celebrate relationships and progress.
Leadership as a Team Sport
Throughout the event, one powerful theme resonated clearly: at Astra, leadership is a team sport. We are not merely building companies — we are building a community of strong, forward-thinking leaders dedicated to shaping the future of the trades.
Thank you to every participant who contributed to the success of this Roundtable. We look forward to seeing the impact of this work ripple across the network in the months ahead.
